Tall case clock by Daniel Munroe, ca. 1810
Daniel Munroe, of Concord and Boston, Massachusetts, made this eight-day tall case clock with an English bell strike movement. He was active from 1796 until 1858 when he was 83 years old. The dial was made by Spencer Nolan, probably during the period that he worked alone in Boston, 1810-1818. Therefore the clock probably dates to this time.
Acquired for Montpelier by the Knox Memorial Association.
