• Henry Knox’s Wastebook, ca. 1804
    Henry Knox kept a series of journals called wastebooks, in which he frequently noted the weather and made rough notes about his financial transactions. Commonly, a wastebook was used to make rough entries before they were entered into a more formal ledger.This one, marked, dates from April 1804 to September 1805 and is in his own hand.
