Smart talk for savvy people. Historian of the United States Senate, Donald A. Ritchie, gives a talk called Congress Investigates: It All Started with Henry Knox, from Knox’s War Department in 1792 up to Benghazi, with observations on what worked and what failed over the years, at The Strand Theatre in Rockland. Mr. Ritchie, one of whose assignments was supervising the release of the Senate’s McCarthy hearings transcripts, has demonstrated his entertaining storytelling abilities in interviews with CSPAN’s Brian Lamb, and comes highly recommended. The lecture is sponsored by Machias Savings Bank, admission is free, and front rows are reserved for Museum members. Doors open at 5:00 pm. Mark your calendars!
