    Muskets to Machine Guns: BOOM!

    Boom! For 3 days only, Knox Museum - in partnership with the Maine Military Historical Society Museum - will exhibit an impressive cache of historic and contemporary weaponry, from the American Revolution through present day. Saturday/Sunday/Monday, July 1-3, 2017, inside Montpelier, 12:00 - 4:00 pm. Admission is $10 Adults, $8 Seniors and AAA Members, Children age 5 -13 $4, and Flat Family Rate (2 parents and 2 kids) $20. Active Military, Knox Museum members, and kids under 5 admitted free.

    Baroque and Beyond. Kick back on a lovely summer evening and enjoy the classical 18th-century strains of Beethoven, Vivaldi,  Handel, Mozart, and Bach. Toss in a twentieth century composer or two like Debussy, Hindemith, Vaughan-Williams or Koechlin. All with a glass of chilled wine in hand, seated comfortably in Montpelier's gorgeously-appointed Federal period Oval Room.     Revolutionary War Encampment

    Imagine life over 200 years ago. What was it like living in an encampment, far away from home, fighting for freedom from the crown, living off the land? Come see at Knox Museum as re-enactors from around New England gather on Montpelier's 13.5 acre property to pitch their tents, show their wares, cook over a campfire, and practice musket drills. Free and fun for the whole family!

    Hoecakes with George Washington

    Breakfast, that is; the President's favorite. Come enjoy some historical "hoecakes" - George Washington's favorite pancakes - with the man himself. That's right, the nation's premier "George Washington" - straight from Mount Vernon, his Virginia plantation - appears at his good friend's, Henry Knox's Montpelier, for breakfast, story-telling, and photo-ops on Friday, August 11, from 9 am - 11 am. $5 per person; kids under 5 free.
